Connected by Time is a powerful love story that transcends the time gap between World War II and present day. In the midst of the war, a German and Russian soldier must overcome their differences to save the woman they both love. Caught in an uneasy detente, they struggle to survive while attempting to maintain loyalty to their respective countries. The one thing that unites them but ultimately results in their demise is their quest to save the woman and her child. United in this same purpose, their journey extends to present day where they enlist the help of their future grandchildren to continue what they started 67 years ago.

The story begins on New Year's eve, when an apartment building has a power outage. The neigbours who become the characters of the film are forced to celebrate together in the stairwell. As they welcome the New Year together they get to know each other from other sides and some of the characters are going to change their lives radically. This is the Christmas story about the lives of others and the wishes that come true.
